Empowering The Marginalized

A Perspective for Inclusive Development ,authored by Deepak Dwivedi a noted Indian journalist and social worker ,lends credence to the fact that prosperity can't always be measured in numerical terms.Unless concerted efforts are made by all key stake holders -government,business,NGOs & The UN - to aggregate their efforts in addressing substantive issues of social parity. The national edition of above book by the author was launched by Shri M Hamid Ansari ,Vice President of India at his official residence in New Delhi on 26th July 2017 also the International Edition was launched at the Rhodes Forum 2017.

  • "Empowering the Marginalized": A Perspective for Inclusive Development, authored by Shri Deepak Dwivedi, a noted Indian Journalist and Social Worker, lends credence to the fact that prosperity can't always be measured in numerical terms. Unless concerted efforts are made by all key stakeholders-government, business, non-governmental organisations and the UN- to aggregate their efforts in addressing substantive issues of social parity, income equality and the economic independence of people below the poverty line will remain critical issues. The insihts and ideas the book provides regarding how key stakeholders can operate correct the current development paradigm stand out as invaluable. Given both the occasion of the launch of the book at Rhodes Froum, 2017, and the causes it propagtes, I am sure the book will breach new frontiers in spreading the message of 'leaving no one behind'- a core sustainable development goal and UN motto that strives to declare every person on the planet 'equal', without any prejudice or bias.

  • Prof. Dwivedi's passion towards academics led him to continously being involved in rendring services and advice to several prestigious academic institutions and Universities across India such as Mahatma Gandhi University, Andhra Pradesh; Yogi Vemana University; Indira Gandhi National Open University and Mewar University. Perhaps, it is his passion towards action-research focused development journalism which brought us further closer while conceptualizing the implementation of participative assesment and monitoring of different social and economic developmental projects in rural india, which eventually led to his participation in United Nations Global Compact Principles for Responsible Management Working Group(s) on 'Anti-Corruption in Management Curricula' as well as 'Anti-Poverty' in which we wok as colleagues. I wish Prof. Dwivedi all the best for all his professional endeavours!
